Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Cowans in November 1976. After making his debut for Aston Villa aged just 17 was soon called up to the England U-18 side going on to play the Coppa Principe Alberto between the 12-16th November '76. England started well the tournament and defeated Spain 3-0 with Cowans joining the action as a substitute and secured a place himself in the starting squad for the next games. The second match against West Germany finished in a 1-1 draw and Yugoslavia hammered the Three Lions 3-0. The midfielder went on to make 10 appearances for the senior side between 1983-90 whilst at club level, he became part of the foundations at Aston Villa for a decade winning the Europe Cup in '82.
